Compensation for use of Excessive Force in Arrest

Cheque presented by Mr Mistry, Actions Against Police SolicitorOn 27 June 2009, Mr Edward Skinner was arrested for a Public Order offence. During the course of the arrest, the Arresting Officer from Staffordshire Police threw Mr Skinner to the floor causing bruising to his face and the back of his head.

Mr Skinner is 70 years of age and of slight build.

Staffordshire Police, through its insurers, paid Mr Skinner £1,500.00 plus payment of his legal costs for the excessive force used by the arresting officer.
