£50 million Fraud Saga Goes On and On

Our client was charged in 2002 with what is known as Missing Trader Intra Community (MTIC) Fraud. There have been numerous complex applications including one to recuse the trial judge. This trial collapsed last month and is now due to be retried. The collapse was as a direct result of prosecution conduct. The Legal Services Commison, at the highest level, are currently considering whether to support Murria in persuing an application against the Prosecution for wasted costs in the region of £500,000.

There are reporting restrictions that apply to this case which has also been the subject of an application by the Attorney General (to obtain a High Court injunction against an international news channel) therefore we cannot give full details at this stage.
